Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information gathered during a visit, the reasons it is used, and the limited situations in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use Monroe County Criminal History, you agree to these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its own results. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

We retain an email or contact submission as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • The referring website, when one is available
  • Visited pages and the length of each visit
  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser name and version
  • The device's assigned IP address

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files stored on a visitor's device. They and our analytics services help combine traffic data, such as popular pages and points where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how parts of the site work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
  • Operating the site and maintaining page speed
  • Sending a search request to the selected provider
  • Understanding which material visitors use
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Monroe County material identifies official routes such as the Sheriff, Circuit Court, Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not turned into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and sharing rules govern any data submitted to those tools. We do not control those practices, so review the provider's terms before running a search.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to a sheriff, court, state agency, legal-aid organization, or outside search service. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.

Some advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and select targeted ads.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed to:

  • Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
  • Search providers processing a submitted query
  • Advertising networks serving content on the pages
  • A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

We use ordinary security measures intended to protect collected data. No internet system can guarantee perfect protection, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.

Your Data Rights

Applicable Missouri consumer-protection law, including the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act in Chapter 407, may provide additional rights. At a minimum, you may:

  • Opt out of certain processing where the law provides that choice
  • Request deletion of data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Request a copy of your stored information

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy. Any new version will appear here with an updated effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.

Effective date: July 30, 2026
